Welcome to the Thiele-Group!
The group supervised by Prof. Christoph Thiele exists since 2002 and was originally founded at the Max-Planck-Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics (MPI-CBG) in Dresden.
Dr. Christoph Thiele was appointed as professor for Biochemistry in 2009 at the University of Bonn. The research of the group is focused on the regulation of neutral lipid metabolism, especially on the specialized neutral lipid storage organelle, the lipid droplet. In addition to the cell biology of neutral lipids, different new techniques and substances for lipid and protein detection have been and are still being developed in the laboratory.
