On November 17, 2023, for the first time, a joint graduation ceremony was held for our LIMES Master's graduates of the programs “Biochemistry” and “Immunobiology: From Molecules to Integrative Systems”. The ceremony took place at the BMZ I on the Venusberg, together with the graduates of the Master‘s program “Medical Immunosciences and Infection”, as a combined graduation ceremony.
The event started off in the afternoon with two exciting scientific presentation sessions by our graduates. These sessions provided a unique platform to showcase their exciting research projects from their Master's theses to a large audience. The topics ranged from ground-breaking discoveries to forward-thinking theories, highlighting the diversity and depth of our academic Master's programs.
The chairs of the examination committees and the study coordinators then addressed the audience with words of inspiration and appreciation, congratulating all our graduates. Special guests included the Dean of the Medical Faculty and the Dean of Studies of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences.
Another highlight of the evening was the awarding of personalized commemorative certificates by the Dean of Studies and the chairs of the examination committees. Each graduate was individually honored and received their well-deserved appreciation. This special moment was, of course, captured in photographs, preserving a valuable memory of this milestone.
Culinary delights were also provided: A delicious buffet and a sparkling glass of champagne in hand ensured the well-being of the attendees and offered an opportunity for lively conversations and networking. The atmosphere was one of joy, pride, and a sense of community that permeated the entire event.
Overall, this first joint graduation ceremony was a resounding success. It provided an appropriate stage for our graduates to celebrate their achievements and marked a special moment in their academic and professional journeys. We are proud to have been part of this journey and look forward to continuing this format in the coming years. We already invite all future graduates to participate in this beautiful tradition and celebrate their own successes with us.
