Together with the Waseda University Tokyo, CBBD-OIL Tokyo, WABIOS Singpore and the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia of Pisa the 4th Core-to-Core International Symposium took place in Bonn from 6th to 8th March. The symposium was organized by the LIMES Institute for international scientists in the fields of nano-biotechnology, chemical and medical biology as well as robotics.

Over three days, the nearly 90 participants from Tokyo, Okinawa, Osaka, Singapore, Pisa, Hong Kong, Lübeck and Bonn were able to update themselves with a broad spectrum of lectures in many different fields of these sciences. The "Festsaal" in the main university building provided a venerable setting, and the supporting program was also used for a lively exchange.

"We are excited about the wide range of topics and the high quality of the lectures and we are particularly pleased about the many participants with poster contributions," said the Managing Director of the LIMES Institute, Prof. Waldemar Kolanus. Since 2006, the LIMES Institute has had a close collaboration with Waseda University Tokyo, where joint research projects are carried out and exchange programs with joint symposia are held on a regular basis.
