The Senate has confirmed today the election of Professor Dr. Michael Hoch to be the 143rd Rector of the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn. The 53-year-old developmental biologist is to assume the office of Professor Dr. Jürgen Fohrmann in the summer semester 2015.
Last week, the University Council had unanimously voted in favor of Professor Hoch. This decision was confirmed by the members of the Senate today. In this University Board, all groups of the University are represented: students, faculty, academic staff and employees of technology and management.
Rector Professor Dr. Jürgen Fohrmann, Chancellor Dr. Lutz Reinhardt and the Chairman of the University Council, Professor Dr. Dieter Engels, and the Senate, Prof. Dr. Nicolas Wernert, were among the first to congratulate.
The handover will take place on April 30th, 2015.
