Prof. Famulok elected DFG Vice President

Professor Michael Famulok of the University of Bonn is the new Vice President of the German Research Foundation (DFG). The General Assembly of the DFG in Berlin chose the 53-year-old biochemist and the Hannover experimental physicist Professor Dr. Wolfgang Ertmer as new Vice President’s of the central self-governing organization for science in Germany. Ertmer takes over from experimental physicist Professor Konrad Samwer, and Famulok from Dresdner developmental biologist Professor Elisabeth Knust.

University Rector Prof. Dr. Jürgen Fohrmann was delighted with Prof. Famulok’s election: "The election of the DFG Vice President is an outstanding tribute to Michael Famulok to which we congratulate him warmly. It is also a great honor for the University of Bonn to put among its ranks a board member of the DFG. "
