On 21 November 2025, the second joint graduation ceremony for the LIMES Master's programmes in Biochemistry and Immunobiology: from Molecules to Integrative Systems and the Master's programme in Medical Immunosciences and Infection took place. The venue was the new Audimax lecture hall, which was festively decorated for the occasion and provided a dignified setting for the ceremony.
The celebrations began with a welcome address by the guest of honour, the Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Prof. Dr. Witke. This was followed by two scientific lecture sessions in which several graduates presented their exciting research projects. The presentations highlighted the thematic diversity and scientific quality of the LIMES Institute's degree programmes and offered the audience insights into current research topics.
After the presentations, the chairpersons of the examination boards for the degree programmes and the study coordinators congratulated the graduates and praised their commitment and achievements. A special highlight was the ceremonial presentation of decorative certificates by the examination board chairs. Each graduate was honored individually and received a decorative certificate as a visible sign of their successful completion of their studies. This moment was captured in photographs.
Following the official part of the ceremony, a reception with a buffet and drinks provided an opportunity for networking. The relaxed atmosphere allowed graduates, lecturers and guests to engage in conversation. A photo corner was popular before the evening came to a cheerful close with music and dancing.
Overall, the joint graduation ceremony proved to be a successful event, providing a fitting setting for the graduates' achievements while strengthening the sense of community within the degree programmes. It marked a special moment in the academic careers of the graduates and provided a wonderful setting to celebrate this milestone together with fellow students, friends and families. The organisation and implementation of the event was actively supported by students from the student councils.
We look forward to continuing this format in the coming years and cordially invite future graduates to participate.
