In addition to classical methods of molecular and cellular immunology, cell biology and molecular biology, we are also responsible for some important technologies at the LIMES Institute, which are briefly described here.
West German Genome Center (WGGC)
We are part of the West German Genome Center (WGGC), the competence center for Next Generation Sequencing constituted by a network of institutes from Aachen, Bonn, Cologne, Duisburg-Essen, Düsseldorf, and Saarland. Through the WGGC we have access to the latest NGS technologies and to a wide expertise on different systems. We directly participate trough the PRECISE platform. Genomics, epigenomics, transcriptomics
The working group is responsible for the "Platform for Single Cell Genomics and Epigenomics".
In addition, we are responsible for the flow cytometry at the LIMES Institute. The following devices are currently available at the LIMES Institute:
· BD Aria III
· BD LSR II with 96-Well Plate-Reader
In recent years, we have also invested in Genetic Engineering:
· CRISPR / Cas9 based libraries
· Toolbox for plasmid production for homologous recombination
